‘As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend.’ Proverbs 27:17

Currently living in rural East Texas, Duayne has always had a passion for horses and the western lifestyle. As a lifelong horseman, Duayne knows the importance of quality spurs and how special buckles are to the cowboy way of life. Prior to becoming a buckle and spur maker , Duayne trained horses for a living and still continues to ride and compete in ranch events. This allows Duayne to use his products and understand what’s needed for a product to last and have a great feel.

Duayne and his wife, Amy, work closely with customers to ensure the perfect design is created. Duayne says, “Each piece tells a story and takes on a life of its own. It starts with the raw material and then turns into a handcrafted work of art special to each customer.”

Each piece being 100% handcrafted in Texas is very important to Duayne. “With so many products now being made in other countries or mass produced on assembly lines, I think it’s important that the art of buckle and spur making be preserved. I’ve had several customers tell me the piece I built for them is now a family heirloom. That means a lot to have a piece in their family legacy.”

How does a former horse trainer become a buckle and spur maker?

Duayne gives all the honor and glory to God. “This business is owned by the living God. My name is just on it. Our Heavenly Father is behind all the talent and skill required for me to build buckles and spurs”, Duayne says.
